Official studies say that production costs for Bioethanol are around 50
Euro Cent for 1 litre. Compared to mineralic gasoline it is absolutely
competitive. The advantage for Ethanol will grow steadily with higher
exploration costs and rare resources of oil.
E 85 combustion compared to gasoline combustion brings less emissions
in all categories:
- 15 % less carbon dioxide
- 10 % less nitrogen oxide
- 20 % less particulate emissions
- 40 % less carbon monoxide
- 80 % less sulphat emissions
Bioethanol combusts due to its high octane very homogeneous. That
causes less internal vibration of the engine. Addionally E85´s
combustion temperature is 40 ° Celsius lower than the one of gasoline.
This minimizes thermal stress of the engine. Combined with the cleaner
combustion of E85 engine life is extended and power output and agility
improve. No tear or wear due to bioethanol fuel has ever been detected.
So it is friendly in more than one way.
